Dubs at the Park - The Show

Easthampstead Park Bracknell, 6am, an orange t-shirt. it can only mean one thing, its Dubs at the Park time again. LTVs annual VW show gets bigger every year, with better weather than previous years the team hoped for good things and it didn’t disappoint.

After the team briefing at 10am the punters were already forming a queue, so half an hour early we started letting people in, our traders and helpers had pulled all the stops out and got things set up with time to spare so we let the Golfs, Campers, Beetles et al on to the show fields.

I took a wander down the queue to get in with my camera, heading to the end to smooth the flow onto the main drive, the public coming in were very patient with us and we thank them for that. A busy 90 minutes saw over 800 Dubs in and around 2000 people, plus loads of non VWs from local residents keen to see what the fuss was about.

With the bulk of the crowds in I started a walk round that saw me bumping into loads of VW friends and nattering to the traders and sponsors to make sure everyone was happy and enjoying the day. Cordwallis one of our main sponsors provided a great line up of commercials.

By the bouncy castle the LTV mums to be met up for the first time, should we rename it “Bumps at the Park”?

The rear show field was full up.

Kids were kept busy with colouring competitions and face painting as well as a surf simulator.

Over in the side field it was just as busy.

Our local pin striper Nefarious was busy putting his mark on various cars and campers.

While up on the Chris Denham stage, four live bands kept us entertained.

As the day came to a close the votes were all counted and the crowds gathered for the winners to be announced.

The results can be found here. With the show over for another year, the orange t-shirt crew ran round packing everything up and making sure the grounds were clean and tidy. Just time for a final photo of the remaining crew members.

All that was left was to get to the pub and enjoy a slice of PABs lovely cake and a pint on the club.

A massive thanks go to the public that came along, the crew that helped things run smoothly, the traders and sponsors for supporting us and manager Stu for holding it all together. The rest of the photos can be found here.

Steve.
