Farm Shop Classics

It’s a Bank Holiday weekend, therefore its supposed to chuck it down with rain all day long….not the best weather to be standing around in a field at a classic car show, even worse if you’ve been up at the crack of dawn first! With a convoy of Campers, the Dubs at the Park team set off to the farm shop at Windsor Castle to advertise the clubs show at the Classic Car gathering organised by the people behind the Isle of Wight car show later in the year. First in we had the pick of the plots and opted for an edge to try and ease the showers, adding the gazebo helped, but it was still very chilly, but it was brightening up over there (pointing into the distance) and the rain was easing!

Set up we started on breakfast, a hearty meal of fudge brownies and coffee, or scrambled eggs if you’re Paul.

As the rain lashed down we watched Forrests headlights fill up.

As more cars rolled in, numbers were well down on expected, but Paul was still able to fill more gaps in his “I Spy” book, I’m not sure that a 24v V6 Mini was in there though!

The Americans set up along side us, braving the damp with some fat tyred rods.

The local TVR club produced a good lineup as well.

The three wheelers arrived on mass in a wide variety of trikes in all shapes and sizes.

The “Nutter of the day” award went to the Moke owner, who left his doors behind!

A pair of Routemaster double deckers were on hand to whisk people to and from the town centre, we took shelter from the weather to relive our youth (well, those of us old enough, Stu, Paul…Jeff!)

Apart from us, the Fiat 500 club produced a big turn out of Italian pocket rockets.

The Brits also had a good turn out with all the staple classics covered.

This Austin J2 Bluebird Camper was stunning, all original and low mileage, very practical.

This former US Army crewcab was huge, the bonnet coming up to just under my chin! 7.2lts of V8 shoved it along at health pace

By mid afternoon we’d had our fill of the rain and cold and packed up, lots of flyers given out and plenty of coffee drunk. The rest of the photos can be found here.
