Adventures on the Isle of Wight - Day5

Dropping Lily and Kim in West Cowes for a wander I headed for the workshop. Within the hour the fuse box under the dashboard had been stripped, cleaned and the fuses replaced. The problem sorted for £20. The mechanic was a Dubber too with a T25 and Beetle of his own as well as a Splitscreen Camper in for work Relaxed with a working van again I headed into town and met up with the shoppers before a spot of lunch on the seafront watching the boats go past.

With the weather improving and no rain in site we made the decision to head to The Needles for the rest of the day. Within an hour we went from the top to the bottom of the island and parked up with a view to the famous rock outcrops and lighthouse. Remembering the butterfly house experience we checked and double checked that Lily really wanted to try the chairlifts to the beach below. She was up for it so with me loaded up with the bags and Lily on Kims lap in front we took two chairs down the cliff. SHe loved the ride through the trees and out to sea.

After a busy half hour sandcastle building and dipping our toes in the Solent it was time for the return trip. Once more Lily was up for the ride, so we swapped bags and the two of us rode up the cliffs passed the colourful sands and towards a welcoming ice cream and medal. We then spent the rest of the afternoon going on a few of the rides together.

Taking the long way home across the Cowes chain ferry it was back to the caravan for tea.

As the sunset the most amazing moon came out and filled the sky. I was inspired to do a bit of night snapping and after several setting changes and a makeshift tripod was quite pleased with the results.
